About the Opportunity
BRAC’s Ultra Poor Graduation Initiative (UPGI) is dedicated to scaling up the Graduation approach globally, empowering the world’s poorest to achieve sustainable livelihoods and overcome extreme poverty. We are seeking a qualified national candidate based in Indonesia to support all aspects of operations and administration processes to deliver the UPGI scale-up strategy. This position requires close collaboration with staff in Jakarta and 6 other provinces in Indonesia, namely West Sumatera, West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Nusa Tenggara.
UPGI is looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the project and represent to key national, sub-national, and international partners, overseeing the project outputs, milestones, project implementation, financial management, ensuring that project activities are following donor regulations, BRAC International’ss rules and regulations & project management policies, thereby preparing the projects’ external and donor audits, working closely with UPGI - Global team to update project implementation in Indonesia.

The Ultra-Poor Graduation Initiative is a global unit within BRAC International that was founded in 2016 to build off the success of BRAC’s Ultra-Poor Graduation program in Bangladesh. Graduation is an evidence-based, scalable intervention proven to break the poverty trap for the long term. To help eradicate extreme poverty, BRAC UPGI is working to scale globally by integrating Graduation into existing government programs and help 21 million more people lift themselves from extreme poverty by 2026. At present UPGI has interventions with governments in South Africa, Rwanda, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.
Primary Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the project and represent the project team to key national, sub-national, and international partners.

Oversee the project outputs, milestones, project implementation, financial management, and supervise the project support staff.

Responsible for ensuring project activities follow donor regulations, BRAC International’s rules and regulations and project management policies, thereby preparing the project internal and external as well as donor audits.

Support BRAC International’s Country Lead in overseeing all management aspects of the project, both in the project implementation and operations covering programmatic aspects and administrative financial services.

Develop project management and oversee project’s budget implementation and financial management, and supervise the project’s support staff.

Work closely with the BRAC International - UPGI global teams.

Other (Safeguarding Responsibilities)
● Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation.
● Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
● Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in public policy, business, international development, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience working in project management.

Having knowledge on poverty reduction and social protection in Indonesia, and being able to present this subject that relates to the project’s activities to the external audiences.

Excellent track record managing donor projects.

Excellent track record managing USAID projects and expert knowledge of USAID and USG regulations are beneficial.

Demonstrable knowledge of USAID project management, finance, procurement, and USAID financial management reporting, and compliances.

Given that the Project Manager is expected to support the Country Lead in all aspects of the project, in the Country Lead’s absence, the Project Manager must also possess a proven ability to liaise with and communicate effectively with senior government officials, donors, and partners.

Good knowledge of project and finance management as well as procurement processes.

Proven capacity in supervising project teams.

Must possess superb analytical and planning skills, good judgment, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Fluency in English with excellent writing and presentation abilities.
