About the Opportunity 
BRAC’s Ultra Poor Graduation Initiative (UPGI) is dedicated to scaling up the Graduation approach globally, empowering the world’s poorest to achieve sustainable livelihoods and overcome extreme poverty. We are seeking a qualified national candidate based in Indonesia, to support all aspects of operations and administration processes to deliver the UPGI scale-up strategy. This position requires close collaboration with staff in Jakarta and 6 other provinces in Indonesia, namely West Sumatera, West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Nusa Tenggara.
UPGI is looking for a Project Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist the Project Manager to represent the project team to key national, sub-national, and international partners; oversee the project outputs, milestones, implementation, and financial management; ensure project activities are following donor regulations, BRAC International’s rules and regulations and project management policies, thereby preparing the project internal/external and donor audits and working closely with UPGI’s Global team to update the project implementation in Indonesia.

The Ultra-Poor Graduation Initiative is a global unit within BRAC International that was founded in 2016 to build off the success of BRAC’s Ultra-Poor Graduation program in Bangladesh. Graduation is an evidence-based, scalable intervention proven to break the poverty trap for the long term. To help eradicate extreme poverty, BRAC UPGI is working to scale globally by integrating Graduation into existing government programs and help 21 million more people lift themselves from extreme poverty by 2026. At present UPGI has interventions with governments in South Africa, Rwanda, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India. 

Primary Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager in overseeing the programmatic aspects and project operations, including administrative and financial matters.
Facilitate implementation of the approved milestones and deliverables.
Maintain relationships and coordinate with related local governments and other related stakeholders.
Report to the Project Manager on the project activities (monthly and quarterly).
Create and update the monthly forecast for regional operating costs and expected travel/activity budgets.
Facilitate project communications in each province and contribute to the implementation of capacity building activities.
Assist the Project Manager and monitor the progress of activities in each province.
Prepare meeting materials, presentations and take minutes of meetings.
Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager. 

Other (Safeguarding Responsibilities)

●      Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation.

●      Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

●      Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so. 

Qualifications 


Bachelor’s degree in social science, economics or any other relevant qualifications. Master degree is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role. 
Ability to make decisions under uncertainty and to assess potential institutional risks. 
Excellent computer skills such as MS office, presentation tools and various information systems.
Excellent track record managing USAID projects and expert knowledge of USAID and USG regulations are beneficial.
Being proactive, assertive and action-oriented; driven to work without supervision.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to document the progress of every milestone in narrative report.
High level of proficiency and fluency in English.
Working experience in rapidly growing organizations will be an added advantage.
Previous knowledge or strong interest in global development.
Ability to work together within the team and have strong communication skills among team members.
